the mission

To provide a forum for the intersection of spirit and art - a place to share what creations we must manifest to continue living in a meaningful way.

I'm open to what develops here - poetry, fiction, non-fiction, images, videos, quotes, insight - mainly looking at this blog as a record or shared diary in a spirit of playfulness and inspiration....mental froth, mind's eye materialization, and life songs lost and found.

sweating in the tall grass
in the shade of aspen
wildflowers scatter perfect changing designs across a billion years of creation

frogs croak
and blackbirds whistle
and mosquitoes hunt in my ear

wolfwillow perfume hangs
in the hot still breath
that coats leaves and wood and skin in fresh velvet

as this day yawns wide with unflinching light
solstice peaks in the prairie afternoon

secret pond

stumbled upon this magical little pool in the woods - seemed like the kind of place fairys or other magical little beings would hang out

rain dance

eli's rain dance -
performed after it is already raining -
choreographed by reaction of the cold raindrops splashing on his skin

"there is a time somewhere between the ages of five and twelve which corresponds to the phase ethologists have isolated in the develoment of birds, when an impression lasting only a few seconds may be imprinted on the young bird for life..." Wallace Stegner

I recently got satellite radio in my jeep and my favourite station is the ambient channel, music that can really capture an emotion or a feeling...

I keep a note pad in my glove compartment to write down any song that really moves me as I am always searching for any feel good sounds.
Here's a few from the list...

everyday haiku

it is too wet
the mountain ash cannot grow
in the garden valley

everyday haiku

the sun is warming
calling my hangover head
into clear light awareness

everyday haiku

rain falls softening earth
dream seeds sprouting
into fresh green shoots

everyday haiku

up all night
with a knife in my stomach
breathing through a stone dam

everyday haiku

meeting my new lover
cold rain blew all weekend
