the mission

To provide a forum for the intersection of spirit and art - a place to share what creations we must manifest to continue living in a meaningful way.

I'm open to what develops here - poetry, fiction, non-fiction, images, videos, quotes, insight - mainly looking at this blog as a record or shared diary in a spirit of playfulness and inspiration....mental froth, mind's eye materialization, and life songs lost and found.

basho's haiku (in the spirit of winter)

I left my rundown hut beside the river during the 8th month of 1684, placing my trust in my walking stick and in the words of the chinese sage who said "I pack no provisions for my long journey - entering emptiness under the midnight moon". The voice of the wind was oddly cold.

Weather-beaten bones
I'll leave your heart exposed
to cold piercing winds

The Keeper

There is a black bear that likes to hang around my sweatlodge when I'm not there. I don't view him as a threat but more like the keeper of the land when I'm not around. I usually spot evidence of his presence with finding large rocks tipped over, ant nests dug into, large scat piles and the footprints like seen in the picture...

Two of my favourite wing spanned friends who were patient enough to let me photography them this year.

These two were always curious of my presence and would regularly sit themselves nearby to keep a watch on me...

Amazing Grace- Tim Eriksen

Long time favorite - this dude from Massachusetts is a master of the old American sounds...raw, real and fine.
